New Britain Racial Justice Coalition to Host Community Budget Vision Session – Postponed

Editor’s note (1/17/2026): The New Britain Racial Justice Coalition has announced that, “Our Community Budget Vision Session scheduled for Saturday February 21st has been POSTPONED! Please be on the lookout for more information on when it will be rescheduled.”

The New Britain Racial Justice Coalition is inviting the community for a Community Budget Vision Session.

The organization says that,

We plan to ask and discuss answers to:
-How does funding impact our community?
-What do you want to see funded in New Britain?

“Join us for lunch, discussion, and envisioning what WE want our city to look like,” the Coalition says, “while we: analyze the current city budget and explain how a city budget is drafted, sketch out our own city budget and discuss action steps to get our community budget passed.”

The event is Saturday February 21st, 2026 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Community Meeting Room at the New Britain Public Library at 20 High Street, New Britain.

The Coalition has an online sign-up form for the event, adding “For any accommodations, you can also email us at nbracialjustice@gmail.com.”

“We look forward to hearing your perspective and ideas,” organizers say. “We cannot do this work alone and we support you in standing up for our city. All are welcome, with encouraged attendance of current New Britain residents.”
