Downtown New Britain Hosting Trick-or-Treat Safe Zone for Halloween

The New Britain Downtown District says it is inviting families and the community to Downtown New Britain to celebrate Halloween.

The event, the annual Downtown Halloween Trick-or-Treat Safe Zone, will be on Saturday, October 31, 2026 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

The Downtown District says that, “This family-friendly event brings together local businesses, community organizations, and volunteers to provide children and families with an enjoyable Halloween trick-or-treating experience throughout the downtown area.”

There are 41 confirmed participating “candy stop” in downtown New Britain, adding “Participating candy stops will be located along Main Street, West Main Street, and throughout the Central Park area. Families can visit participating businesses and organizations to collect Halloween treats while enjoying the festive atmosphere of Downtown New Britain.

The New Britain Downtown District saying that it, “encourages families to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and come downtown for an evening of community celebration.”

The District says that it thanks participating businesses, saying it highlights, “the continued support and involvement of the downtown business community.”

“Road closures are expected to begin at 3:00 PM, with streets scheduled to fully reopen by 9:00 PM.,” the District says. “Public parking is available at the Badolato Garage, 35 Washington Street, and Szczesny Garage, 35 Bank Street.”
