Community Foundation of Greater New Britain Hosting “Giving Brewsday 2026”

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has announced that it is hosting, “Giving Brewsday 2026,” which it says is, “an evening centered on community, connection and doing good close to home.”

The Foundation says that, “The free annual event will take place Tuesday, December 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Transcend Beer Crafters in Plainville, welcoming nonprofit and business leaders, young professionals, entrepreneurs and those young at heart. Held on Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity that encourages people to support causes and communities they care about, Giving Brewsday puts a local spin on the tradition to connect, celebrate and give back.”

Rather than a formal program, the Foundation says, at the event, “Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from 15 participating local nonprofits, learn about their work, and vote to select one organization to receive a $2,500 grant, giving them a direct role in supporting their community.”

“Giving Brewsday is built around the simple idea that doing good is for everyone,” said Kaylah Milligan, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain. “There is incredible work happening every day in Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington, and there are people throughout these communities who care deeply about where they live and want to make a difference. Giving Brewsday brings that energy together in one place.”

“Community involvement can take many forms,” Milligan adds. “It can mean supporting a cause, volunteering your time, sharing an idea, lending your expertise, or simply learning more about what is happening around you. You don’t need a certain title or background to contribute. Everyone has something to offer, and Giving Brewsday is an opportunity to find out where you might fit.”

“Admission, food and the first drink are free, organizers say. “The evening will also feature music, giveaways, and opportunities to meet people from throughout the region. Space is limited, and advanced registration is required. To register, visit cfgnb.org. For more information about Giving Brewsday, contact Mark Berardi, Assistant Director of Philanthropy, at 860-229-6018, ext. 306, or mberardi@cfgnb.org.”

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain says that, founded in 1941, it, “is a public charity serving Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington. The Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to strengthen communities through charitable giving, grantmaking, scholarships and community leadership. With more than 350 charitable funds and an endowment approaching $100 million, the Foundation helps donors turn generosity into lasting impact while investing in the people and organizations that make the region stronger.
