Nuclear Weapons Deliver No Security, Only the Promise of Annihilation

Members of Back from the Brink CT carried a poster into the Hartford office of Senator Chris Murphy on April 28th . The poster said the “UN Secretary General says Nuclear weapons deliver no security, only the promise of annihilation – Senator Murphy please cosponsor S. Res 323.” Senate Resolution 323 calls for a halt and reversal of the nuclear arms race. The poster has seventy four signatures of CT residents.

As conflicts escalate through out the world and with the termination of arms control agreements , the danger increases that nuclear weapons could be used. One mishap or miscommunication can create a living inferno for millions, ignite global famine and destroy civilization. With nuclear weapons on hair trigger alert , there is very little time to correct an error or misjudgment, in response to a false warning.
