AmeriCorps and CHC New Britain Hosting MLK Day of Service Donation Drive

The AmeriCorps Healthy Communities program and CHC New Britain are seeking donations for their upcoming MLK Day of Service.

Event organizers say that they are accepting donations until January 10, 2024 at CHC New Britain at 85 Lafayette Street or by an Amazon wish list.

Event organizers say that the MLK Day of Service, on January 15th, is to provide, “health screening opportunities, free supplies for those in need, and the CT Foodshare truck will be present.”

Organizers say that they are seeking donations of hats, scarves, gloves, long johns, sweatshirts, blankets, baby bottles and formula, toiletries and first aid items.

“All donations will be stocked in a free storefront in New Britain,” event organizers says, “where community members facing housing and/or food insecurity can shop for their needs on Jan. 15th.”
