North-Oak NRZ to Discuss Future Plans with Non-Profits

Pastor Dana Smith, President of the North-Oak Neighborhood Revitalization Zone, is preparing to reach out to local non-profit organizations to discuss future plans in the neighborhood.

“As you know,” the letter Smith is preparing to send says, “the North-Oak Neighborhood Revitalization Zone is an organization of neighborhood residents and other stakeholders whose mission it is to organize and advocate for the people of the neighborhood.”

The letter notes that the NRZ’s advocacy is, “predicated on the various public and non-profit organizations that serve the city working toward the achievement of those important goals.”

That is why, the letter says, the NRZ plans to have a discussion with different community organizations on, “what the NRZ hopes to achieve and the role that your organization, by virtue of your capabilities, mission and programs, can do to advance the NRZ’s objectives.”

The letter says that, “we appreciate the important purposes that your organization serves and your genuine efforts on behalf of the people in our community, ” adding that, “The North-Oak NRZ hopes that your organization is as excited by the possibilities of what we can achieve together, for the people of the North-Oak neighborhood, as we are.”

The full letter says,

Dear organization,

As you know, the North-Oak Neighborhood Revitalization Zone is an organization of neighborhood residents and other stakeholders whose mission it is to organize and advocate for the people of the neighborhood.

The work of NRZs to develop and implement plans for the improvement of economic, social and other quality of life realities in the neighborhood is predicated on the various public and non-profit organizations that serve the city working toward the achievement of those important goals. Without that, our best plans are little more than ink on paper. That is why, as the North-Oak NRZ presses forward with its advocacy work, the roles that are needed for different agencies to play in the achievement of the NRZ’s goals must at the center of our efforts.

As the NRZ, we appreciate the important purposes that your organization serves and your genuine efforts on behalf of the people in our community. It is because of the vital role that your organization can play toward making NRZ’s vision a reality that we would like to focus attention on the NRZ’s relationship with your organization and the work that you do.

We plan to reach out to your organization in the coming weeks to discuss what the NRZ hopes to achieve and the role that your organization, by virtue of your capabilities, mission and programs, can do to advance the NRZ’s objectives.

The North-Oak NRZ hopes that your organization is as excited by the possibilities of what we can achieve together, for the people of the North-Oak neighborhood, as we are. We look forward to a productive and forward-thinking discussion.

Sincerely,

Pastor Dana Smith
President
