HITW Presenting Macbeth as โ€œFilm Noirโ€

William Shakespeareโ€™s classic play Macbeth is getting a unique interpretation in the Hole in the Wall Theaterโ€™s upcoming production.

HITW Presenting Macbeth as "Film Noir"

The Theater says that,

Keeping most of the original dialogue, we set the stage in the gritty, black-and-white, world of film noir as we follow Macbeth, prophesied by three witches to be king of Scotland. His path to the throne is a dark one, however, as what lays ahead of him includes betrayal, murder, and madness.

The play will open on March 15, 2019.

Scott Hoffman and Ramona Puchalski-Piretti will play โ€œMacbethโ€ and โ€œLady Macbethโ€, respectively, and Matthew Horowitz plays โ€œBanquo.โ€

George Dagon will play the characters โ€œDuncanโ€ and โ€œDoctor.โ€ Other cast include Matt Stevens as โ€œMacduff,โ€ Billy Moro as โ€œMalcolm,โ€ Luis Marrero as โ€œLennox,โ€ Mark Wantroba as โ€œRoss,โ€ Mary Roane as โ€œAngus,โ€ Chuck Willson as โ€œSiward,โ€ Pandora Willcutts as โ€œYoung Siward,โ€ Luca Giannelli as โ€œFleance,โ€ Gino Carbone as โ€œMacduffโ€™s Son,โ€ Thom Ozimek as โ€œMurderer 1,โ€ and Shawna Pelletier as โ€œMurder 2โ€ณ and โ€œMessenger.โ€

The Three Witches will be played by Valerie Ruel, Rayah Martin and Kate Micari. Ruel will also play โ€œSeyton,โ€ Martin will also play โ€œLady Mucduff,โ€ and Micari will also play โ€œServing Woman.โ€

The show will include nine performances through April 6th.

The showing on March 22nd is the Theaterโ€™s, โ€œPay-What-You-Can Night.โ€

The Theater says that it thanks, โ€œthe American Savings Foundation for sponsoring our production and providing funding for a special matinee performance for New Britain High students.โ€

Tickets purchased at the door are $20, with a rate of $15 for students and seniors sixty-two years and older. Tickets can be purchased online at the Theaterโ€™s online box office for $17 general admission and $12 for students and seniors. Tickets, payable at the door, can also the reserved by calling 860-229-3049. The Theater says an ID is needed for the student and senior rates.

The Theater says that, โ€œPatrons are encouraged to park in the parking garage (which becomes free after 5 pm) on Chestnut Street, next door to the New Britain police station.โ€
