Upcoming Community Event Seeks to Ignite Hope for Mental Health and Recovery in New Britain
As challenges like substance use and housing struggles continue to affect members of the community, an upcoming event aims to offer support, resources, and the vital message that no one should have to face these hardships alone.
“From Faith to Freedom: Igniting Hope in Mental Health & Recovery” will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the New Britain Public Library’s Main Branch, located at 20 High Street.
The event focuses on bringing the New Britain community together to foster healing and recovery. According to organizers, the gathering is designed to strengthen community connections, equip faith leaders, prevent overdoses, and challenge the stigmas surrounding these critical issues. The ultimate goal is to move the community toward a more compassionate and coordinated response.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about helpful local resources, receive support, and connect with others who care. In addition to community building, the afternoon will feature inspirational speakers, music, and free food.
The event is hosted by the New Britain Public Library and is supported by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, along with ATTC New England.
