City Leaders Mourn Former City Council Member Alden Russell
Former New Britain Ald Alden Russell is being honored by Democratic and Republican leaders for his years of service in the city after passing away recently.
“On behalf of the City of New Britain, I am saddened by the passing of Former Alderman Alden Russell,” said New Britain Mayor Bobby Sanchez. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him during this difficult time.”
The City’s Republican Party said, “New Britain lost a devoted public servant with the passing of former Alderman Alden Russell. The New Britain Republican Town Committee joins our community in mourning his loss and remembering his years of dedicated service to the City of New Britain. We offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Russell served as a member of the City Council, representing Ward 1 up until the last Council term.
In addition to being a leader in the New Britain Republican Party, Russell also ran for state representative.
