Council Leader Supports DeFronzo for State Representative
To The Editor:
David DeFronzo, the endorsed Democrat running for 26th State Representative in the August 13th Primary, will be an effective leader for the city and the district if he is elected to the Legislature this year.
Mr. DeFronzo is listening and understands the needs of the community. He will bring energy and know how to make state government more responsive and accountable to residents. Through his experiences as an alderman and educator, he has demonstrated the ability to bring people together to get things done.
I share his priorities to increase town and school aid to the city, to reduce reliance on regressive property taxes and to support initiatives that will address critical needs in neighborhoods hard hit by deteriorating storm water and sewer systems. DeFronzo, for example, recognizes that it will take public investments from all levels of government to fix deteriorating infrastructure in coming years. His proposal for a $200 million investment in dilapidated water and sewer systems is a needed step as flooding poses an increasing threat to property and public health across the city.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to vote for David DeFronzo in the August 13th Primary and urge all Democrats to participate through early voting and on Primary Day.
