The New Britain Police Athletic League (PAL) has announced that its Fall karate programming will begin soon.

As of September 17, 2019, PAL was still encouraging people to register their children for the program.

PAL Karate is organized into the Little Ninjas program and the traditional karate program.

PAL says that the

Little Ninjas is a karate program for children ages 3-6 to start developing Karate skills and concepts. Structured 30 minute classes give the opportunity for students to learn karate in a fun environment.

Little Ninjas classes are on Fridays, starting September 17, 2019. The class for kids ages three to four is from 5:00pm to 5:30pm and the class for kids ages five to six is from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.

PAL also says that it,

offers a traditional karate program for ages 7 and up, the style of Karate is Tang Soo Do, a Korean based martial art. In addition to learning techniques, board breaking, forms and exercise patterns, the class focuses on self-esteem, character building, respect for self and others, proper approaches to competition and general life skills for today’s youth.

The classes are organized into separate Tuesday or Friday classes. Participants enroll in one or the other.

The Tuesday sessions begin on January 24th and the Friday sessions begin on January 27th.

The sessions on each day have two classes. One class is for all new students, held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. The “advanced” class, for returning students, is from 6:00pm to 7:15pm.

The registration fee for the program is $60 per session. Registration is available online.

On its website, PAL has said that it, “is an organization managed by the New Britain Police Department and is staffed by full time sworn police officers of New Britain,” adding,
