New Champions in 2019 Osgood Shootout

Flight Fam, led by former University of Washington star Mike Anderson, and the Waterbury Ballers were the winners of the 2019 Osgood Shootout.

Anderson scored 35 of Flight Fam’s points as the team won the Championship in the Open Division 75-71 against 2 Official. The victory was Flight Fam’s first Osgood Shootout Championship.

The Waterbury Ballers, led by Akili Evans, won the High School Championship after winning against Team New Haven 75-71.

Evans was named MVP.

The prestigious Osgood Shootout benefit basketball tournament, “New England’s Biggest Summer Men’s Basketball Tournament,” has long been known for spirited competition and for bringing the community together. The tournament raises funds for scholarships.

Coach Darwin Shaw, Tournament Director has said that,

The tournament has awarded 71 scholarships over the past 27 years and six scholarships have been awarded in the name of the late Albert A. Vieira, a mentor and coach to many of the youth throughout the City of New Britain.
