Memorial Day in New Britain

New Britain honored veterans on the traditional Memorial Day, especially those who gave their lives, with ceremonies around the city, and then celebrated the community with the annual Memorial Day parade.

The New Britain community carried on its long traditionĀ of observing Memorial Day on its traditional date of May 30th. Separate memorial ceremonies at war many memorials throughout the city, reading the names of those who made theĀ ultimateĀ sacrifice and remembering where they fought and what they did.

In the evening, many people came together for the annual parade, honoring veterans groups and celebrating with school bands, sports organizations and elected officials representing New Britain.
