Pitcher Tyler Badamo Joins the New Britain Bees

A new pitcher will be joining the New Britain Bees. The Bees have announced that Tyler Badamo, will start his fifth season as a professional baseball player joining the New Britain team.

Bees General Manager Brad Smith said, “Tyler will be a nice addition to this team. He has proven himself in this league and was also one of the success stories last season, getting picked up by an affiliated club.”

Twenty-five year old Badamo began the 2018 season with another Atlantic League team, the Sugar Land Skeeters.

He played in 2017 for the Bridgeport Bluefish. He started eleven games with that team. Playing 61.2 innings, he had 4-3 record with a 2.63 ERA and thirty-nine strikeouts. After his contract was purchased, he played the rest of that season for the Arizona Diamondbacks, rising to Triple-A level.

Badamo was drafted in 2014 by the New York Mets organization in the twenty-fourth round of that year’s MLB draft. In his sixty-four minor league games since then, he has played 337.1 innings. He has a 3.74 ERA and 237 strikeout, with seventeen wins.

According to the Atlantic League, as of May 27, 2018, the Bees are in third place in the Liberty Division, with ten wins and seventeen losses.
