The Arch Area Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) has announced two upcoming meetings for neighborhood residents to prepare for the “Build a Better Block” event that is planned for June 2, 2018.
The NRZ is planning the Build a Better Block event as a day of activities to,
1. bring the community together,
2. highlight the positive qualities of the neighborhood, and
3. build relationships to the businesses, organizations and residents that are a part of the Arch Area NRZ community.
The NRZ is planning two organizing meetings, both to be held at the parish house St. John Lutheran Church at 303 Arch Street.
The first of these two meetings will be held on May 1st at 6:00pm.
The second meeting will be on May 22nd at 6:00pm.
The Build a Better Block event, itself, will be held in Stephen Carey Park on Arch Street. It is planned for 12:00pm to 4:00pm on June 2nd. The rain date for the event is June 3rd.
Stephen Carey Park is across the street from Criollisimo Restaurant and Lily’s Party and Flower Shop.
The NRZ is asking for people to volunteer to help with the event. Volunteer efforts include helping to publicize the event, and assisting on the day of the event with set-up, distributing information and letting people know about the event activities.
In addition to the Build a Better Block event, the Arch Area NRZ is planning a “Clean Up, Plant Up Party” on May 19, 2018. That event has been planned to be from 9:00am to 12:00pm, gathering at the Northend School at 160 Bassett Street.
The Arch Area NRZ say that its mission, “is working to improve the local neighborhood and assist all stakeholders in establishing a quality of life for all to enjoy.”
