6th Annual Dance for Ana With Love FUNdraiser Apr 7th

The 6th Annual Dance for Ana With Love (DFAWL) FUNdraiser, to benefit the Ana Grace Project, will be held in New Britain on April 7, 2018.

DFAWL says that the annual fundraiser is held,

in honor of Ana Grace Márquez-Greene. Ana was one of the 20 young children murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on December 14, 2012 in Newtown, CT. Her family described her as an angelic child who loved freely, expressed empathy for all and loved to dance.

Over the past five (5) years, Carla Butler, the Founder of the DFAWL FUNdraiser used dance and a family fun day to honor Ana’s memory. Her Executive Committee raised $50,000.00 to date, and proceeds have benefited the Ana Grace Project.

According to its website, the Ana Grace Project was,

Founded in 2013 in memory of Ana Grace Márquez-Greene, The Ana Grace Project was born as a response to the tragedy that took her life in Sandy Hook, CT on 12/14/12. “Love Wins” is the slogan adopted by her family immediately after the tragedy. It has been a rallying cry. The Ana Grace Project is dedicated to promoting love, community and connection for every child and family through three lead initiatives: partner schools, professional development, and music & arts.

The family event will feature dancing, music, refreshments, face-painting and touch-a-truck. There will be vendors at the event, and raffle prizes.

The event will be from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and will be held at the CREC Academy of Science and Innovation, which is at 600 Slater Road.

DFAWL says that there will be, “A full day of events and refreshments all for $30 for a Family 4 Pack, $10 for an Individual, $7 for students with a Student ID and Children 3 years old & under attend for free.” Tickets are available at the door or online on Eventbright.
