Democratic Mayoral candidate Merrill Gay has announced that he has received $29,660 in campaign contruibutions between July and September.
Gay announced that his most recent campaign finance report brings the total amount he has raised in contributions toward his Mayoral bid to over $60,000. That amount of money is widely considered to be one sign that a challenger is very competitive against an incumbent.
“I’m humbled by the hard work and support of my team, the DTC, and supporters in our town,” said Merrill Gay. “We’re working toward a real change, here; that’s what I’m fighting for.”
Democratic Party Chair Bill Shortell added, “The energy around this campaign is tremendous. Our party has new life, and it’s Merrill Gay leading the way. Merrill is the right candidate for the job, and when he wins in November, I know our city will move forward.”
