Preschool Program at Hungerford Park Youth Museum

The New Britain Youth Museum at Hungerford Park has announced a four session Preschool Program, from January to June.

The Program, the Museum says, will involve, “Encouraging young children to use their senses and creativity to explore the natural world around them. Each session may include live animals, games, crafts, cooking, stories, science experiments, and outdoor exploration.”

The Program is for children, ages two to five. The Museum says that, “2 and 3 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.”

The Program, on the dates for which it is scheduled, will be from 9:30am to 10:15pm. “Snack is provided at the end of each class,” the Museum says.

Session 1 of the program, “Winter Exploration,” will be about snow, ice and cold weather, “We will learn all about what happens during the winter season,” says the Museum. Session 1 began on January 16th, and will continue on the 23rd and 30th and on February 6th, 13th and 20th.

In Session 2, “Cooking Class,” the Museum says that, “We will be cooking up some yummy treats.” This session will be on February 27th, on March 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th, and on April 3rd.

Session 3, “Spring is Here,” will be on April 10th, 17th and 24th, and on May 1st, 8th and 15th. In Session 3, the Museum says that, “As the ground thaws, new life begins. We will explore Hungerford Park’s trails for signs of spring.”

In Session 4, “Gardening 101,” the Museum says that, “We will spend time in the garden, planting seeds, learning about the soil, and about the insects and animals that live in the garden.” This session will be on May 22nd and 29th, and on June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.

The cost of the program, per session, is $48 for members and $60 per session for non-members.
