New Britain’s Puerto Rican Festival is a long standing tradition in the community. Held on High Street, the Festival places the Puerto Rican Society of New Britain at the center of community life in the city.  The Festival is a time when Puerto Rican culture and New Britain’s close cultural bond with Puerto Rico are celebrated.

The Festival draws large crowds to hear live music, eat delicious food and enjoy the festive community event.

This year’s festival will feature, on stage,

  • Aky Salas
  • Grupo 787
  • El Salsero Joe Diaz
  • Dennis Y Su Grupo Swing
  • Los Cepeda
  • Mario Pueblo
  • Cerando La Noche Giro

The Festival has also become a moment to think about the people on Puerto Rico in the wake of deadly Hurricane Irma, and to organize help in recovery from the storm. State Rep. Bobby Sanchez (D-25) said that, “We will be collecting monetary donations for Puerto Rico Hurricane relief at the festival, every donation large or small will be very helpful and appreciated.”
