The rally will beĀ held on Saturday, February 25th from 6:00pm to 6:30pm at New Britain’s Central Park in front of the CT Access Health office at 200 Main Street.

The vigil and rally is part of a National Day of Action called by Democratic Senate Minority Leader Charlie Schumer, Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Chairman of the Democratic Outreach Committee Bernie Sanders to rally and save the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Medicaid.Ā Hundreds of rallies will be held around the nation on Saturday including one in New Britain.

Rally organizers say that, “The Republican Party is pushing for a ā€œrepeal and replaceā€ of the Affordable Care Act and they are also looking to privatize Social Security, ‘voucherize’ Medicare, and almost completely eradicate Medicaid.

Organizers say that 150 people have already signed up to attend the rally and that they are expecting perhapsĀ between 250-400 people to attend. “Rally participants should gather around 5:45pm,” organizers say, “and are encouraged to bring signs and candles.”Ā Organizers say that several high profile guest speakers have been invited to address the crowd.

The vigil and rally are being organized by Our Revolution Central Connecticut Chapter in collaboration with Our Revolution Connecticut and the New Britain Democratic Party.
