Jr. Canes Win 2nd in National Championships

The 11U New Britain Jr. Canes won their way all the way to the National Championship game, and finished second in the national tournament. Family and the community celebrated and offered congratulations and expressions of pride, both in person and via social media.

The Jr. Canes won their first round game December 5th over Tyler Hurricanes of Texas 24-6, qualifying for the semifinal game on December 7th.

In that game, the team won their way to at least a national second place and their place in the the American Youth Football National Championship Game, winning over the Maryland District Heights Chiefs 13-6.

The Jr. Canes were awarded their National 2nd Place after their National Championship Game on December 9th, against the Wilmington Pilots.

People back in New Britain were able to follow the action in Florida thanks to live video on the Facebook page of New Britain Hurricanes Youth Football & Cheerleading.
